Do You Need a Physical Therapy Strategic Partner?

Do you need a strategic partner for physical therapy?

By | Blog, Physical Therapy Consulting Services

Developing and growing your hospital’s physical therapy program requires guidance to take it in the direction it needs to go. This means developing a strategy that is based on dedicated expertise in this field. To help with this goal, more and more hospitals are turning to physical therapy strategic partners who can provide unique knowledge and insight into the needs of therapy and rehabilitation departments.

Physical therapy needs to be introduced as early in the treatment and recovery process as possible. This means providing inpatient care in a hospital, not waiting until discharge to go to an outpatient facility. By then, patients can potentially already be experiencing issues like muscle atrophy, decreased circulation and diminished motor function. In addition to hurting outcomes, it can also lead to the potential for costly readmissions for your hospital.

Whether you’re trying to grow, right-size or completely overhaul your physical therapy department, a strategic partner can assess your current needs and make recommendations that are feasible for your needs.

What kind of strategic support can a physical therapy partner offer?

To help your hospital develop and achieve strategic physical therapy goals, a dedicated partner can look at the following areas:

  • Your staffing levels and needs
  • Current service offerings and opportunities
  • Documentation practices and recommendations
  • Performance management software
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Communication with patients and other service line professionals

The right partner can offer recommendations and provide turnkey solutions for these aspects of your program that can help to increase efficiency, streamline costs, boost revenue from payers and lead to healthier, more satisfied patients.

Outsourcing to a Physical Therapy Company

Outsourcing to a dedicated physical therapy company — what you should know

By | Blog, Contract Therapy, Outsourced Post-Op Rehab

For a physical therapy department to be successful in a hospital setting, hospital leaders need the resources and expertise necessary to properly administer this important service line. Whether patients are recovering from surgery, conditions like a stroke or a heart attack or from traumatic injury, physical therapy can help patients get back on their feet faster and a better chance at long-term positive outcomes.

However, when it comes to day-to-day operations, the services, documentation and management needs can be so unique that administrators from other backgrounds often find themselves challenged to give this department the attention it deserves. This is why working with a dedicated physical therapy company can be such an effective solution.

A company that provides contract physical therapy services can bring dedicated industry expertise at a scale that fits any size hospital and budget. If you want to learn more about how a physical therapy company can help you improve patient satisfaction and streamline your operations, we’ve created the following guide to help.

What can a contract therapy services company offer your facility?

Contract physical therapy companies can offer a wide variety of services to the hospitals they work for. Each facility has unique needs, so the best contract therapy providers will take a customized approach to creating a plan that is tailored to each hospital. Typical services can include:

  • Staffing support through access to top recruiting networks
  • Performance management and development
  • Regulatory compliance and billing support to decrease costs and increase revenue
  • Strategic planning and recommendations for expanded offerings
  • Implementation of new integrated systems and workflows

A properly managed therapy department can boost your bottom line and more importantly, improve patient experience and satisfaction for those under your care.

Alliance Physical Therapy Partners is a company with decades of experience

We have hospital partners across the United States who we help by building highly personal relationships with them. Here is what one of our satisfied partners had to say:

Why Do Hospitals Contract for Therapy Services?

Four reasons why hospitals contract for therapy services

By | Blog, Contract Therapy

If you’re a hospital administrator or executive, you know that every year it seems like you’re doing more with less. More patients, new services, higher care expectations, more regulations — and all with a tighter budget and a smaller staff.

Unfortunately, therapy and rehabilitation departments can often be one of the first service lines to be deemed nonessential and either downsized or eliminated entirely. After all, there are more outpatient options for physical therapy than ever before, meaning patients can receive these services after they are discharged.

Therapy services are absolutely critical to delivering full continuity of care, and delivering them while patients are still under your care can lead to more positive outcomes and higher satisfaction. It can also mean increased revenue and less chance of costly readmission for your facility.

Why are hospitals turning to contract therapy services?

An increasingly common solution for hospitals looking to streamline their operations without sacrificing patient care is contracting for therapy services with an outside organization. To help you decide if contract therapy may be right for you, here are four reasons why so many facilities are taking this course of action:

  1. Scalability — Whether you are large or small, contract therapy helps you leverage the resources of a larger organization on a scale that fits your budgetary needs.
  2. Staffing flexibility — It doesn’t always make sense for hospitals to hire full-time therapists if the patient population has seasonal fluctuations. Hospitals that contract for therapy services can meet staffing needs on a more flexible basis.
  3. Turnkey systems and workflows — Hospital leadership is often challenged to oversee the unique demands of a therapy department. Contract services bring therapy-specific practices and systems that can be easily implemented.
  4. Industry expertise — Whether it’s performance management of your staff or better documentation and billing practices, working with a contract therapy service means a partner who is dedicated to this field and has depth of knowledge on best practices.

Alliance Physical Therapy Partners can provide the contract therapy services you need

Our hospital partners across the United States work with us because we bring more than 50 years of industry experience to the table. We’re proud to offer access to top recruiting networks, proprietary health information system software and proven systems of work that are truly turnkey.

What Is an Occupational Therapy Consultant Contract?

What is an occupational therapy consultant contract?

By | Blog, Occupational Therapy Management

By helping patients learn and relearn essential skills needed to perform daily activities, occupational therapy is a critical step in the recovery process for many conditions, from a stroke to traumatic injury. Because it is such a specialized field, many hospitals turn to partners and organizations with a dedicated focus on therapy services, including occupational therapy.

Whether a facility is starting or growing an occupational therapy program, working with a consultant can provide valuable insight into the areas that hospital leadership can focus on while providing practical solutions to achieve their goals. To give you a better understanding of what to expect, we’ve created the following guide to what an occupational therapy consultant contract can potentially cover for your hospital.

What aspects of service can an occupational therapy consultant contract cover?

Occupational therapy consultants should provide services that are customized to the individual needs of each hospital, so each contract will be different. For example, a facility looking to build a program from the ground up will have different needs than one that is looking to streamline or grow an existing department.

For most clients, an occupational therapy consultant will generally evaluate and make recommendations in the following areas:

  • Staffing needs — How many occupational therapists does this facility need, and what kind of background and experience should they have based on the patient profile?
  • Operational needs — Are there improvements that can be made to how services are performed and documented? For a new program, what are the best workflows and performance management systems for this hospital?
  • Strategic and marketing needs — What range of services should be offered, and is there opportunity for expansion in existing programs? How do you communicate internally and externally so patients and staff alike are knowledgeable and informed about your occupational therapy services?

The right occupational therapy consultant can help your hospital develop a program that is the best fit for your hospital and is a positive contributor to revenue, operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Alliance Physical Therapy Partners can help you grow your occupational therapy program

We’ve spent over 50 years in the therapy services industry, and we’re passionate about helping our hospital partners achieve their goals while keeping patients as the central focus of care. When you work with us on an occupational therapy consultant contract, you will find a dedicated partner who will seek to understand your unique needs and make recommendations that are scaled correctly for your budget and patients.

Contract Physical Therapy Management for Your Facility

How a contract physical therapy provider can help your facility

By | Blog, Contract Therapy

Organizations of all sizes and in every field and industry face challenges in maintaining staffing levels. Recruiting, hiring, training and developing qualified and experienced talent requires patience, persistence and depth of knowledge in the area the organization is seeking to fill.

If you’re a hospital administrator, you know that finding physical therapists to staff your inpatient therapy department can be especially challenging. Patients who can begin therapy during their hospital stay enjoy a better chance of a positive outcome and a lower risk of readmission, among other benefits. But achieving these goals means finding therapists who have the right skill sets and personality for your facility.

A contract physical therapy provider can offer many advantages and help you overcome the staffing obstacles faced by your leadership and human resources team.

What challenges can contract physical therapy management help hospitals overcome?

Here are just a few of the hurdles that contract therapy services can help you leap over:

  • Asymmetrical staffing needs — Every hospital has times of year that are busier than others. Contract physical therapy can help you be fully staffed when you’re busy and lean when you’re not.
  • Lack of access to talent — It can be difficult for remotely located or critical access hospitals to recruit qualified and experienced clinicians. A contract therapy services provider can help you bring the right level of experience and qualifications to your hospital.
  • Training and performance management — If you are offering on-site therapy without dedicated leadership, it can be challenging for administrators outside of the therapy services field to properly train and develop staff. A contract physical therapy provider will come from an organization that handles these needs independently or can provide you with the assistance you need.

Alliance Physical Therapy Partners provides industry-leading therapy services

Whether you need assistance with staffing, strategic planning, compliance and billing, or workflow systems, Alliance Physical Therapy Partners has the resources and expertise to help your hospital succeed. We have access to top networks of talent and can help you implement proven systems of work and performance management.

How our physical therapy department management systems can help you

By | Blog, Contract Therapy, Physical Therapy Consulting Services

Many physical therapy departments excel in delivering high-touch patient care from expert clinicians. This success can cause small clinics to grow until they start to struggle with the operational and management side of the business. A number of disparate and smaller systems that were adequate at first are now starting to slow you down and become hurdles for you, your staff and your patients.

We’re well aware of the opportunity costs that can come with upgrading systems and implementing new workflows for your staff. Even if old systems and fly-by-wire operations seem to be slowing you down, it can seem like a huge investment in time and resources for marginal improvements.

At Alliance Physical Therapy Partners, we are industry leaders in physical therapy department management. We help our partners find the right set of solutions for their needs while scaling with budgets of all sizes.

Contract Therapy Providers for Critical Access Hospitals

How contract therapy providers can help critical access hospitals

By | Blog, Contract Therapy

Critical access hospitals (CAHs) are essential to helping patients in rural and remote areas get the care they need, especially in emergency situations. The patients who come to these facilities have the same illnesses, conditions and injuries as those served by larger hospitals, but as any CAH leader knows, resources can be very tight.

Among the essential services that many patients admitted to CAHs require are physical therapy and rehabilitation. However, staffing and managing a full therapy department internally simply isn’t feasible in facilities where there are small bed counts and physicians aren’t always on-site.

Working with a contract therapy provider can be a huge asset to critical access hospitals that are looking to provide their patients with an essential service that scales with their budget and resources. By having a better understanding of the advantages a provider can offer, you can make a more informed choice about whether working with one is right for your facility.

Benefits of a contract therapy provider

For critical access hospitals looking to reduce costs without sacrificing quality patient care, a contract therapy provider can bring the following to the table:

  • Operational expertise — Contract therapy providers are organizations that are often exclusively dedicated to the therapy services field. This means that smaller facilities can leverage knowledge and resources that they otherwise may not have had access to.
  • Access to top talent — Recruiting qualified and experienced therapists can be a challenge for CAHs and other small facilities. Contract therapy providers can help by providing access to recruiting networks that can bring the talent you need to help patients.
  • Proven systems of work for any size hospital — From documentation of services to billing appeals, therapy services have unique industry-specific requirements that are a challenge for many administrators. A contract therapy partner can help implement systems and streamline workflows to help reduce costs and increase revenues for any budgets of any scale.

If you’re a CAH looking to gain these advantages, Alliance Physical Therapy Partners is a provider who can help you.

Alliance Physical Therapy Partners is a leader in contract services

We have over 50 years of experience in the therapy services field and have helped hospitals of all sizes, from critical access to large urban facilities, achieve their patient care goals. We are proud to boast a top-of-the-line proprietary rehabilitation services management tool that is compatible with all major health information systems to help you stay efficient and compliant.

Therapy Contracting Services and Your Patients

Therapy contracting services and exceptional patient care

By | Blog, Contract Therapy

Every patient who enters your facility deserves the highest level of care. Whether they come in for a minor injury or major surgery, the goal of any health care provider is to give people the best chance of a positive outcome and a return to full functionality. Physical therapy and rehabilitation play a crucial role in this process, and there is strong evidence that it can produce better outcomes and reduce costly hospital readmissions rates.

By helping restore mobility and functioning, therapists can help the body’s natural healing process for a wide range of issues, including hip fractures, strokes, surgical recovery and automobile accidents. Having a fully functioning therapy department  not only helps your patients, but it helps the medical professionals in your other service lines.

Here’s how therapy contracting services can take your patient care to the next level

As many hospital administrators know, providing quality therapy services is often easier said than done. Therapy programs come with their own set of unique challenges that can be difficult to overcome, especially for leaders who come from a non-therapy background. This is why many successful programs rely on a partnership with dedicated therapy contracting services.

This is an organization that specializes in providing outsourced therapy services and has the specialized knowledge and resources to help hospitals deliver the exceptional care they deserve. Therapy contracting services can provide:

  • Recruiting and staffing support to hire the best talent
  • Training and development to keep your program in line with the latest best practices
  • Compliance support to stay on top of regulatory changes in the industry
  • Strategic partnership to help your program provide the widest range of services to your patients

To achieve your patient care goals for your program, you need to find a therapy contracting services partner with experience, knowledge and most importantly, the ability to build a productive, mutually beneficial relationship.

Alliance Physical Therapy Partners can help you reach the next level of patient care

We have decades of experience in the therapy services field and an entire team of experts who are dedicated to helping hospitals streamline their services while keeping patients firmly at the center of the experience. We also have state-of-the-art proprietary health information and workflow systems to help you put these ideas into practice.
